When I tell people my main workspace is actually a conference table, I usually get a raised eyebrow. But hear me out — this Amazon find turned out to be one of the smartest, most affordable upgrades I purchased for my art studio. It’s technically designed for meetings, but I was never one for technicalities, so my first thought was “Well, there is that 7′ table I’ve been looking for. Once it was in place, I could not have been happier; it was everything I hoped and dreamed for…plus more! The perfect creative workstation.

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me to “bring my easel over,” I’d be rich. Not from strangers either, the people I am closest to in my life. The truth is, I don’t work well with an easel — I never have. I’m a spread-out-all-over-the-table kind of artist. I need a big, flat surface where I can lay out sketches, paints, papers, and inspiration all at once.
So instead of fighting my natural workflow, I built my studio around it. And this table became the centerpiece.

Let’s start with the fact that this was my dream table, and I found one that I actually liked, that wasnt a fortune. Compared to traditional studio furniture or custom workbenches, it was a total steal. The combination of a warm wood top and chrome legs gives it a modern, high-end look without the designer price tag.
It’s sturdy, stylish, and feels elevated enough for a creative space while still being practical for everyday use. Sometimes, the best “studio furniture” isn’t studio furniture at all — you just have to look at it differently.
I had my space, I loved the size, there was just one little problem left. The table came about three or four inches below my belly button, which would most likely start making my back cramp up after a while. To address this problem and make it even more functional, I added a set of heavy-duty, smooth-rolling caster wheels. Now I can move the table anywhere — near the window for natural light, into the center for filming, or tucked aside when I host events. The wheels glide quietly, protect the floor, and make my workspace completely flexible. Now the table is the perfect height for me to stand at and work for hours.

When you’re creating your workspace, forget the rules. Think about what you actually need to feel productive and inspired.
For me, that meant a big, mobile surface — not an easel. My advice to you is personalize your space, make it work for you. The best spaces aren’t designed by trends; they are designed by the people who use them.
To complete the look, I chose these pink acrylic folding chairs. They could not go any better in the space. They have the function of a folding chair, but are so cute. The pink acrylic is so unique, and the chrome dresses up the chairs so they don’t look like you pulled them from the corner of a garage. They’re light, foldable, and they don’t visually clutter the space. The transparency makes them feel airy and modern, and the blush tint adds just the right amount of personality.
They can be stored out of the way when I need more room or lined up classroom-style if I’m teaching a group session. Pretty and practical — the dream combo.

What I love most about this setup is how it fits my creative method. It’s my space so I get to choose what pieces to work on. My tendency to throw out the rule book doesn’t always work well, but in this case, it works in my favor! There’s space to spread out, collaborate, film, paint, plan, and create — all in one beautiful, flexible workspace.
It’s not traditional, but it’s perfect for how I work and how I work most efficiently. I think I learned a lesson from setting up this studio, and that’s the secret: build your space around what fuels you, not what’s expected.
